- Infected Koi is daily sold to people who do not follow the correct
procedure, eg. netting, treatment, disinfecting, de-stressing,
quarantining and preparation for transport. This gives the Koi industry
a bad reputation and it can be detrimental to Koi keeping in South
Africa.
- This is one of the major reasons why Koi does not have a great second
hand value when selling privately. People tend to buy Koi only from
reputable dealers for a good reason. The dealers in turn often charge
outrageously high prices in comparison to what hobbyist are willing to
sell their Koi for.
- We have created a system whereby hobbyists can sell their
"second hand" Koi at a price which is more in line with what
dealers are charging.
- We provide a service to Koi keepers to safely sell their Koi through
us in a professional way and for prospective purchaser’s to buy Koi
with peace of mind that the stress on the Koi has been limited and that
it is free of any infections or health hazards.
- To the seller, we provide proper exposure to their Koi in the Media,
online, and by public auction at our premises. On arrival, your Koi will
be photographed, measured, undergo treatment, quarantined separately
from any other Koi and be marketed immediately.
- We provide professional advice to the purchaser, a free brochure on
Koi keeping together with the basic equipment required and the ability
to buy online, on auction and with their credit card.
- We provide a wide variety of Koi to prospective purchaser’s to
choose from.
- We provide an immediate outlet to the desperate seller like the
person who have to relocate and have to make a plan with their Koi in a
hurry.
- Although we often sell the Koi immediately, we release the Koi only
after they have been properly quarantined for a period of at least four
weeks(depending on the current conditions) treated and scraped. A
certificate is being issued with each sale declaring the Koi free from
serious parasites.
- A fee of R 100 per month for the period that the fish are with us to cover our
direct expenses per fish plus 20% commission on the selling price is payable on
date of sale.
